In 1974, Buck invested a $1000 in the already existing 16 outlets for the purpose of including sandwiches in the menu. Sandwiches became among some of the best foods that are sold in this franchise. The following year, these franchises were open to all clients to start other branches in other areas.

The sandwiches that are cooked in these franchises are the biggest and the meatiest of all the sandwiches that were available in the place in 1975. These sandwiches were also the tastiest. They were named after Brooklyn-Manhattan Transit system.

The subway Sandwiches franchises use to sell only subs in its initial years of operations. In 1977, it divided the 1 foot hubs they were selling into 6 inches. This is called the `snak’ sandwich even at the moment.

This franchise introduced another change in the food industry in 1980. It brought into scene the salads sandwich. This was another product that was quickly accepted in the market. This sandwich was so popular that the `Entrepreneur’ magazine named this company as the best in the category of those companies that are involved in production of subs.

The expansion of this franchise started in 1984. It extended to different parts of the country and the continental US. Subway sandwiches franchises have at the moment expanded outside the USA to other areas in the world.
